Why it works

KSM-66® Withania somnifera (Ashwagandha) – The root of this plant has been traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine to reduce stress and enhance overall wellbeing. We used a unique organic extract of Ashwagandha called KSM-66® which has been clinically-trialled for stress relief in dogs and was found to help anxious dogs deal with stressful situations better.

L-Tryptophan – An amino acid found in food that helps to decrease negative behaviours in dogs.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) – An essential vitamin required for optimal health. Vitamin B1 is beneficial, as it:
* Helps the brain function properly
* Helps promote rest and relaxation in dogs

Magnesium – An essential mineral involved in energy production within the body. Because magnesium is used extensively everyday, it is needed daily in the diet. Its main role is to maintain normal nerve and muscle function.

Gabriel, Nectar's founder here - thanks firstly for taking the time to write your review. In our home, we've come to rely on Calm+Relax for Willow our (nearly) 6 year old Vizsla - she's just a much more relaxed dog (we took a break from giving it to her for a month or so).

A calmer dog

I wish I’d looked up ashwaghanda for dogs sooner. I’d only had my 2 yr old border collie a few months when we were asssaulted with 5 months of construction work next door. It drove her crazy, running back and forth along the fence, as she had when she spent 6 months in a shelter. Nothing I tried made a difference.
I’d taken ashwarghanda myself, so I was pleased to find an Australian product that looked safe and trustworthy.
After 2 weeks she had calmed right down. I can’t honestly say it was all due to Nectar, as the work had finished, but I’ve no doubt at all it has helped as she’s a very different dog.
I would note that she had some loose stools in the beginning, getting me up at night, and I found that was a possible side-effect. I’d been giving half the daily dose twice a day, but reduced it to just morning and all was fine.

Thoughts about Calm and Relax

The dogs love this powder. One drinks it up 100 ml water and 1 teaspoon, they are calmer. One collie is less grumpy. Even my oldie darling Border Collie will eat with it powdered on her meal. Shall look at others as time moves on. Thank you!

Dogs happy, I’m happy

I’ve been using this for my ridgeback, he weighs 55 kilo and I give him a heaped teaspoon in milk every morning ( didn’t like it in water) . I use it because he’s over sensitive and yes it helps him, makes him a more chilled happy boy . Will keep using it because it works for him.
