Pet crazy? Yes they are. But how did it all begin? In our first episode of A Modern Animal, we explore how Gabe and Mike's (our podcast co-hosts) journeys began in the animal health space as they recall their first "animal love" and the profound impact it had on their lives.

Dr Mike Woodrow: Dr Mike Woodrow B.V.Sc (Hons) has over 30 years’ experience as a veterinary surgeon in Australia, but also in the UK and US. Mike has worked across most aspects of the animal health industry from practice to research and teaching to being an early innovators in online pet care. Although he may not want to admit it, Dr. Mike has also been a bit of a media personality. We are very grateful to have Dr. Mike as the co-host of A Modern Animal. He is not only a very experienced and knowledgeable vet surgeon with a grounded perspective on animal health, he is also an incredible and very generous human being.

Gabriel Perera: Gabriel Perera (Gabe) has been in the natural health industry for the last 20 years. He is qualified in Ayurveda and has worked as an executive with some of Australia’s largest Natural Products brands, including Blackmores, BioCeuticals and Orthoplex. Gabe is also the Founder and Managing Director for the innovative pet supplements brand - Nectar of the Dogs as well as Ora Health, a practitioner-grade, plant-based human supplement range exclusive to health food stores. Gabe is the dad of Willow, the crazy Hungarian Vizsla that has been following him and his partner throughout Australasia over the last 5 years.
